My brothers and I were on our way to a race in TN when we stopped in Nashville at Gruhn's Music store.  I found a place to park right down the street.  We just turned the corner from the parking lot, when a guy asked if we could help him out with a couple of bucks.  His face was sun burnt and his eyes were bloodshot red.  Of course the first thing that comes to mind is "Drunk wanting more Alcohol" We said we didn't have it and walked by.
The entire time I was in the music store looking at all the expensive guitars, it was bugging me that I said no and gave him nothing.  I was hoping and praying in my mind that he would still be there when we left so I could give him something. After about a half hr. we left and he was still standing there.  I reached in my pocket and pulled $15 dollars.  I gave it to him and said do something good with it.  I then felt a lot better after giving him the money.  We had to walk about 20 feet and turn the corner were the car was.  Only about 2-3 minutes had passed before we had got in the car and drove out of the lot.  I looked over and I didnt see him anywhere.  He was gone. (True story)
You can come up with all kinds of possibilities: went to get something to drink, went to go get some food, try a different spot for more money, BUT.. What if it was an Angel testing me or maybe even God checking my heart.  I will probably never know the answer.  I usually don't walk past anyone asking for help.  I don't know if they are really in need or not, but I don't like to take a chance.  I give because that is the right thing to do.  What they choose to do with it is between them and God.
God never turns his back on you he loves you, even the worst of sinners can be forgiven. Don't turn your back on someone asking for help.  Maybe it will be an Angel testing you or maybe it will be God checking your heart.
Do the right thing!  God bless you
James 1:5-6
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all
without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must
believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown
and tossed by the wind.
The Daily Dirt Newsletter is coming out soon. I am looking for Christian Race
fans, drivers, officials, announcer, etc., to be spotlighted in each issue. All
we need is a picture, a little bit of bio, and a short testimony. Consider being
apart of the newsletter. Help spread the gospel and let people see what God has
done in your life. Email me at
dailydirtprayer@yahoo.com for a sample copy. God Bless. Robert
If I could give you a PowerPoint presentation of your whole life up to today,
would you want to see it?
From the day you were born and took your first breath you have lived a life. You
played as a child, you learned and you grew. You had your crushes on those girls
or boys, you had your first date and your first kiss. What about that first car,
cool (well some of you had cool ones). Some went to college and some went to
work. Some married, some had children, and some opened up the business they
dreamed about. Some bought a house and some rented. For some, good luck has
always been on their side and for others it has seemed to always be bad luck. In
all of our lives, we have had different things happen and we have all gone
different directions. But ask yourself this question; In all that I have been
through and done, have I really lived? Those who have been raised as Christians
can tell you, they have lived. I thought I was living, at least living it up
when I was partying and running around. Those days of the beer in my hand--I
thought that was the life. I think back now and realize that my life never
really began until I accepted Jesus Christ as my lord. Jesus gave me life. He
showed me the things that are important, my family, my friends, and my loved
ones. He showed me love. He showed me how much, he really cares for me. He
forgave me for all the sins I had committed in my life. He has eased the
heartache and loneliness I felt. He gave me hope and joy and he gave the promise
that he would never forsake me. All I had to do was to talk to him. Ask him in
my life and repent. Start living a new life.
I would not be afraid to look at my life in a PowerPoint presentation because I
know when that best part of the story starts. Have you ever heard the saying,
“The best is yet to come?” Well accept Jesus Christ into your life and see how
much better your life really gets. You will have trials, but once your name is
in that book of life and you are bound for glory, you will know, the best is yet
to come.
